Linda Crane Resarch Grant

The FPTA offers a research grant in the amount of $10,000 in memory of Linda Crane, PT.  In order to be eligible for the grant the principal investigator must be a member in good standing in the FPTA and have been a member in good standing of the APTA for the past 3 years. Catherine E Patla Community Awareness Grant

In 2017, Catherine E. Patla established the Catherine E. Patla Community Awareness Grant through a generous contribution to the Florida Physical Therapy Association (FPTA). The Grant is administered as a commitment to assisting Florida physical therapists and physical therapist assistants in their relations with the public and patients through community awareness of the physical therapy profession. Travel Grants

APTA Federal Advocacy Forum Grant

FPTA provides grants in the amount of $1,250 to up to four members interested in attending the APTA Federal Advocacy Forum, typically held in the spring. The application and deadline for this grant will be announced in the FPTA Weekly Update.

Steven Levine APTA HoD Student Grant

FPTA provides grants in the amount of $1,400 to one DPT and one PTA student member each to attend the APTA House of Delegates meeting. The application and deadline for this grant will be announced in the FPTA Weekly Update.

FPTA State Advocacy Days

FPTA provides travel grants up to $275 to cover the cost of travel, room and food for attendees at the FPTA State Advocacy Days. The application and deadline for these grants will be announced in the FPTA Weekly Update.

National Student Conclave Grant

FPTA provides a grant to enable one physical therapy student member and one physical therapy assistant student member to attend the APTA National Student Conclave annually. The deadline for student grant applications will be announced through the FPTA Weekly Update.


The Research Committee looks for individuals who would like to submit abstracts for presentation at the FPTA Annual Conference.  At least one author must be a current member of the APTA/FPTA.  Abstracts may be a platform or poster presentation. Important Licensure Deadline

The current licensure period ends November 30, 2019. This means that the 24 required continuing education hours per biennium of licensure must be met by November 30, 2019.
