Awards Committee

The Awards Committee reviews and recommends recipients for the annual FPTA Awards.

 Bylaws/Reference Committee

The Bylaws Committee is responsible for assuring that the bylaws of the Florida Physical Therapy Association and of each of its component districts are internally consistent, that the bylaws of the districts are not in conflict with the bylaws of the FPTA and that neither the chapter bylaws nor the districts’ bylaws are in conflict with national APTA bylaws.

Conference Committee

The Conference Committee is responsible for educational sessions and events held each year at the Spring and Annual Conference.

CE Procedures Committee

The Continuing Education Procedures Committee has the responsibility to interpret the concepts and scope of continuing education required for license renewal within Florida, in a manner consistent with rules of the Florida Board of Physical Therapy. The concepts and scope of continuing education through the attainment of approved courses represents educational activities that are responsive to the current and future needs of the profession.

Ethics Committee

The Chapter Ethics Committee (CEC) is a standing committee authorized through the Bylaws of the FPTA.  The committee acts as a resource by providing guidance and education related to ethical practice and values within the PT profession at the component level.

Finance Committee

The Finance Committee is a standing committee authorized through the Bylaws on the FPTA.  The Finance Committee shall advise the Board of Directors as to the expenditures, investment of funds, and present an annual budget for the ensuing fiscal year to the Board for final approval.

Advocacy Committee

The Advocacy Committee is responsible for overseeing the FPTA's advocacy efforts before the Florida Legislature, US Congress, and state & federal regulatory agencies, and works hand-in-hand with the FPTA professional lobbying team vetting major public policy issues.

Leadership & Mentoring Committee

The Leadership & Mentoring Committee works to develop programs that will enhance leadership skills among active members and provide mentoring services.

Membership Committee

The Membership Committee is responsible for recruitment and retention of members.

Nominating Committee

The job of the Nominating Committee is to prepare a slate of names for each office to be filled. Nominating Committee members are usually individuals who have been active in FPTA activities and as such, know a fair number of members who can be recruited to run for office in the association. Past Presidents Committee

The FPTA past presidents date back to Ada Winstanley (1946-1948) and consist of a dedicated group of individuals.

Research Committee

The Research Committee is responsible for vetting applicants for the Linda Crane Research Grant and Abstract Presentations at the FPTA Annual Conference and Assembly of Representatives.
