Meeting Information

The Northern District will host its first quarter district business meeting and a presentation on Human Trafficking. Presented by Jamie Dyson, PT, DPT and Constanza Aranda Garcia, PT, DPT, MSPH. Remote attendance is available and seating is limited.

Provides one (1) live hour of continuing education towards Florida license renewal.

PLEASE NOTE: In person seating for this course is limited to fifty and remote seating is limited to thirty. If the tickets you want are sold out, contact Tracy Daunt at tdaunt@fpta.org to be placed on a waiting list. 

To attend remotely, participants will need a PC with good internet and a video camera to join the meeting. You will receive a WebEx link to join the meeting in your email confirmation.

About the Presentation

Course Objectives:

1. Describe the different types of including: Sex trafficking and labor trafficking
2. Discuss factors that place a person at greater risk of being a victim of human trafficking.
3. Identify individuals who may be victims of human trafficking
4. Discuss how to report cases of human trafficking and resources available to victims.
5. Identify public and private social services available for rescue, food, clothing and shelter referrals, hotlines for reporting human trafficking which are maintained by the National Human Trafficking
6. Describe validated assessment tools for identifying a human trafficking victim and general indicators that a person may be a victim of human trafficking
7. Discuss procedures for sharing information related to human trafficking with a patient
