The Southwest District will host its fourth quarter business meeting followed by a presentation on The Missing Link: How the Foot Affects the Knees and Hips by Scott Gray, PT, DPT. 

Provides one (1) live hour of continuing education towards 2019 Florida license renewal.

Early Bird registration closes Sunday, November 11 so please register before then. No discounts for early bird registration will be made at the meeting. PT and PTA members will be charged for regular/onsite pricing unless they are able to provide the confirmation email.

About the Presentation

By the end of this talk the participant will be able to:

  1. Understand the functional anatomy and mechanics of the rearfoot, mid foot, first ray, and ankle joint and their implications on the knee & hip joints.
  2. Assess the foot/ankle complex both non-functionally and functionally.
  3. Understand how GRF, Mass, & Momentum cause motion at foot during gait and other functional activities, not the muscles
  4. Discern the differences of how foot motion is created between walking and golfing.
  5. Come up with a treatment approach to assess and treat the foot complex and provide specific exercises to improve.
