APTA Reimbursement Information

Most therapists have probably already obtained information, including reimbursement information, from the Internet. But with more Web sites being started each day, even using a good search engine will not identify all sites that may help you obtain appropriate insurance payments.

This categorized and annotated list of Web sites are in operation as of March and focus on specific payers, such as Medicare and Medicaid administration (e.g. carriers). Billing software firms, claims "clearinghouses", coding consultants, and general health policy sites are not included. Once you reach a site's home page, you will need to click on one or more buttons or search for specific information of interest.

HCPCS Codes and CMS (formally HCFA) Forms: http://cms.hhs.gov, then search on specific topic. Also a comprehensive site for Medicare rules, lists of carriers and fiscal intermediaries, administrative manuals, national coverage policies, and statistics.
